When past wedding clients Tori and Aaron reached out to book an adventure session in Yosemite National Park, we couldn’t say yes fast enough! Yosemite holds a very special place in our hearts; it’s where my husband and I shared our intimate wedding ceremony back in 2019. Since then, we’ve revisited this breathtaking park multiple times throughout the seasons, each visit leaving us more inspired. We couldn’t wait to capture Tori and Aaron’s love story in such a meaningful location.

Sunrise at Tunnel View

The first weekend of June 2022, we kicked off the day bright and early—well, more like dark and early! By 3:30 AM, we were driving into Yosemite, eager to make the most of the tranquil morning hours. Our first stop? The iconic Tunnel View. As the couple embraced the stillness of the early dawn, we snapped some stunning photos before the crowds arrived. Even in the quiet of the morning, the grandeur of El Capitan and Bridalveil Fall provided a jaw-dropping backdrop.

Exploring Yosemite Valley

After leaving Tunnel View, we ventured deeper into Yosemite Valley. Halfway through the session, hunger struck, so we made a pit stop at Curry Village for coffee and breakfast. Refueled and energized, we hit the road again, this time heading toward Big Oak Flat Road.

Although the sun never broke through the clouds as Tori and Aaron had hoped, the overcast skies gave the session a unique and moody vibe. As photographers, we embraced the soft, diffused light, which added a romantic and cinematic touch to their photos.

Longboarding with Otis

One of the highlights of the session was Tori and Aaron’s adorable Doberman, Otis, who was as much of a star as the couple! Otis warmed up to our cameras right away, making for some sweet and playful shots. To capture an activity close to their hearts, Tori and Aaron brought along their longboards. Watching them glide effortlessly against the stunning Yosemite backdrop was pure magic—a perfect reflection of their adventurous spirits

Ending the Day at Valley View

As the session wound down, we made our way to Valley View. This spot offers unparalleled views of El Capitan towering over the valley floor and the Merced River winding through. Even under gloomy skies, the scenery was nothing short of spectacular. Tori and Aaron’s love and laughter shone brightly, making the day feel anything but dreary.
